Music Monday: Jack U Debut Album Review
So unless you were under a rock this weekend, you probably heard about Jack U, aka Diplo + Skrillex, releasing their first full-length album together earlier than its original release date.
I was actually informed via a #selfiesnap vid of a solo kitchen rager.
Anyway, I finally got to sit down and give it a listen. The whole album is pretty consistent with their style of music. No surprises here, even with the guests on the album. Below is the full album and track list- check it out, unless you are trying to relax/calm down/or just prone to anxiety attacks.
1. Don't Do Drugs Just Take Some Jack U
just an intro track- honestly, does anyone ever download just these and rage alone in their car?
if you do, keep it to yourself
especially in traffic.
2. Beats Knockin (ft. Fly Boi Keno)
like old school hip hop with lasers
so pretty much like everything else on this album.
3. Take U There (ft. Kiesza)
if you haven't heard this yet, well...
4. Febreze (ft. 2 Chainz)
sorry but weird/gross/funny visual brought to you by Titty Boi's opening line.
I just wonder how long it will be 'til Private Party makes this into a hoodie.
Less likely: 2 Chainz as the new spokesperson for the brand of air fresheners
^ we can dream.
5. To U (ft. AlunaGeorge)
I actually love this and did immediately
Aluna's voice gives it a sultry vibe and its a nice change from the other hectic tracks
Similar Song = Ellie Goulding + Grammatik + little bit o' Disclosure
6. Jungle Bae (ft. Bunji Garlin)
so glad this came out way after/before halloween
this will never be an acceptable instacaption
7. Mind (ft. Kai)
#lollipopsound
8. Holla Out (ft. Snails and Taranchyla)
super heavy dubstep
...Trillobyte and SilverPhish have yet to release a counter- track...
9. Where Are U At Now (ft. Justin Bieber)
Biebsssssss + his Baby voice
"Like OMG is this a response to Selenerrs track with Zedd??"
10. Take U There (Missy Elliot Remix)
Yet another marker of Missy's comeback (never thought this would be happening, but oh, am I glad it is)
